Total permanent disability benefit is paid if a person covered suffers a total permanent disability as specified under the plan. The scheme covers 36 specified illnesses and operations from Alzheimer’s disease to Parkinson’s. Cancer (excluding less advanced cases), Cardiomyopathy of specified severity and Heart Attack are also covered. Type 1 insulin dependent diabetes mellitus of specified severity is also includes in the specified list.
